Dr. Patel is originally from Kentucky and completed his undergraduate education at University of Kentucky, later receiving his medical degree at University of Pikeville-KYCOM. He then completed an internal medicine residency at University of Louisville and was thereafter selected to complete a chief resident year. He completed his Allergy/Immunology fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Dr Patel enjoys caring for children and adults within all realms of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He has gained expertise in severe asthma management, food allergy testing and treatment, and allergy immunotherapy. One principle he engages in is empowering patients by educating them about their disease process. Dr Patel believes that each patient is different and the use of phenotyping and tailoring treatment plans for each individual is crucial in optimizing care.

Dr Patel is a world traveler and foodie, influenced by his Indian-Italian roots. He is an avid sports fans, particularly basketball and soccer, and enjoys attending live sporting events and hiking. In addition, Dr Patel and his wife enjoy spending time with family.
