Craig Norquist, MD, FACEP, FAMIA

Dr. Craig Norquist serves as the Chief Medical Information Officer for HonorHealth and is a board‑certified Emergency Medicine physician and Clinical Informaticist. He directs the HonorHealth Clinical Informatics Fellowship and is a Professor of Clinical Practice at the ASU John Shufeld College of Medicine and Medical Engineering. His prior leadership roles include Network Patient Safety Officer, Department Chair of Emergency Medicine, and Chief of Staff at Thompson Peak Medical Center.

Dr. Norquist’s training includes Intermountain Health’s Advanced Training Program, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Patient Safety Executive Training, EPIC physician builder certification, executive education in healthcare delivery at Harvard Business School, and artificial intelligence training at MIT. His professional focus includes improving clinical processes, quality, outcomes, and the patient and provider experience through the effective use of health information technology. He has contributed to national work through invited participation with the ECRI Institute and the National Quality Forum and has led statewide initiatives in opioid stewardship, including chairing the Arizona College of Emergency Physicians Opioid Prescribing Summit for the past eight years.

He also serves on multiple CHAI (Coalition for Health AI) working groups and is the chair‑elect of the Clinical Informatics (fellowship) Program Directors Council.
