Devin DeFendis is currently the Director of Advocacy and Training at Sojourner Center and was previously Sojourner Center’s Director of Programs. Devin has a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in Women and Gender Studies from Arizona State University. Devin completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Southern California. Devin has advocacy, case management, and program management experience at a variety of nonprofits working with diverse populations. Populations include homeless youth, refugees, survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking victims, and older isolated adults. Devin also has experience working as a Community Development Director overseeing donor manager, marketing, volunteer, and internship programs, events, and grants. In her current role, Devin has been responsible for strengthening and creating trauma-informed services to support participants in achieving goals tied to safety, self-sufficiency, and personal empowerment.
