Harriet L. Turney is currently the Ombudsman for the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA). Her office provides information to injured workers about the Workers’ Compensation system in Arizona. Harriet was the Chief Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) for the ICA from 1998-2013. As an ALJ, Harriet presided over hundreds of workers’ compensation hearings. She is a trained mediator who conducted scores of mediations at the ICA. As an attorney, she has represented both injured workers and workers’ compensation insurance carriers. Harriet served as Chief Bar Counsel for the State Bar of Arizona for 12 years, prosecuting attorneys accused of ethical misconduct. Prior to relocating to Arizona, Harriet was in private practice in Ohio. Harriet has a B.A. and M.A. from Kent State University. She earned her law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law
