Dr Joe Zachariah is a physician who is Board Certified in Infectious Disease who has practiced in metro Phoenix for 25 years. He worked in private practice based at Banner Baywood, Desert & Heart and Hospitals. He attended medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Subsequently he finished his internship at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, his residency & fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

During Covid 19 he was the Medical Task Force lead at Banner Baywood & Heart Hospitals and was principal investigator there for therapeutic transfusions, monoclonal antibody therapies and Phase 3 trial of immune modulator therapies. He was director of infection prevention at the hospital and has an interest in travel and tropical medicine.

He has been awarded the Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor of the year in Infectious Disease multiple times and was the AOMA Physician of the Year in 2021.

He retired from full time practice in 2022 and now primarily does coverage service for colleagues practicing Infectious Disease in Phoenix and Boise, Idaho. His passion is hiking and travel including climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and has visited over 85 countries.
