Michael E. Bays, DO

Dr. Michael Bays graduated from A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in 1990. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Metro Health Center in Eerie, PA in 1995. Dr. Bays founded and maintained a solo private practice in Branson, Missouri for 14 years. In 2009 Dr. Bays returned to his roots in Tucson, Arizona where he continues to serve as Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology at the Southern Arizona Veteran’s Health Care System.  Dr. Bays is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. One of the highlights of Dr. Bays’ career is mentoring the brilliant young otolaryngology residents from University of Arizona College of Medicine.  In 2020, the residents awarded Allied Clinical Faculty of the Year to Dr. Bays.

In his spare time Dr. Bays and his wife of 22 years, Kaci enjoy their cabin in Flagstaff and spending time with their children Austin and Parker, and their granddaughter, Lincoln Lily. Dr. Bays is also an avid CrossFit athlete, lecturer, writer, actor and co-host of “The Hollow Tube” podcast.

Dr. Bays is board certified in in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He completed The Dr. Andrew Weil Fellowship in Integrative Medicine in 2008 and has studied shamanism for over twenty years.
