Shelly Beissel
July 31, 2015 is a day that changed Shelly and Nick Beissel forever. Nick’s sister, Natalie, was tragically murdered by domestic violence. From this pain, Love Conquers Violence (LCV) was formed – to honor Natalie and stop the cycle of domestic violence. As co founder of LCV, Nick oversees all sponsorships, fundraising and operations for the MN based non-profit. He and Shelly are also public speakers – talking about domestic violence awareness and resources in their local community. In his professional career, Nick is a Senior Vice President – Financial Advisor at Wealth Enhancement Group with over a 17-year tenure. He is registered in securities, licensed in insurance and a practicing CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He is a nine-year winner (2012-2020) of the FIVE STAR Wealth Manager award as noted in Mpls. St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business magazine. Nick graduated from St. Olaf college in Northfield, MN with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management. LCV co-founder Shelly, oversees all strategic partnerships, marketing & communications, events and operations for the MN based non-profit. She is also a sought-after public speaker. Her best days are spent telling Natalie’s story and working to break the silence of domestic violence – ending the cycle for other families and their loved ones. Prior to starting LCV, Shelly’s experience centered around the mentorship and support for children in the Minnesota public school system. She was a Youth Programs Coordinator for St. Louis Park Schools, a role that centered on youth enrichment, youth development and summer programming for the diverse student population. Shelly was a recipient of the Lt. Governor’s Red Wagon Award and Minnesota Community Education Association Emerging Leader Award. Shelly graduated from St. Olaf college in Northfield, MN with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Family Studies. Nick and Shelly live in Maple Grove, Minnesota with their two sons, Brady and Max, and their dog, Ole.
