Varun Tandon, MD

Dr. Tandon is an Interventional Cardiologist at Cardiovascular Associates of Mesa, where he serves as one of the Interventionalists.
He earned his medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut. He then went on to be Chief Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Arizona — Phoenix. He completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Arizona - Phoenix, along with his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology, where he served as Chief Fellow. He remains a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Tandon is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology as well as Adult Echocardiography.
His clinical and research interests have included topics in structural heart interventions, advanced heart failure therapies, electrophysiology, and socioeconomic disparities in cardiovascular disease.
In 2022, he was one of the top 10% cited clinicians. He has presented at numerous professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, CHEST, and American Thoracic Society.
