Dr. Ambrosia is an interventional cardiologist specializing in coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, stroke and carotid artery disease, coronary angiography and angioplasty, carotid angioplasty and stenting, TEE, PFO closure, renal artery angioplasty and stenting, and TAVI procedure.
Dr. Ambrosia is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Anand is a board-certified allergist/immunologist who has been in private practice in the Phoenix metropolitan area for over 20 years. She grew up in Arizona, went to medical school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 1998. She then returned to Arizona for her internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, followed by her Allergy/Immunology fellowship at National Jewish Medical Center in Denver, Co. She has precepted and lectured medical student and residents from schools and programs in Arizona, including Midwestern University and is past president for the Maricopa County Medical Society and the Arizona Medical Association.

Dr. John Ashurst DO, MSc, FACEP, FACOEP is an emergency physician, educator, and researcher at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Having a keen interest in population health and clinical research, he received a Master of Science with a focus on Clinical Research from PCOM during residency. Since graduation, he has published more than 100 manuscripts, served on numerous journal editorial boards, and has led journal clubs at the local, regional, national, and international level. Currently, he oversees the graduate medical education program at Kingman Regional Medical Center and teaches evidence-based medicine at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine.

Doctor Jess Bell is a 2005 graduate of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine who has completed specialty training in the fields of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
After nearly two decades of offering treatments that wove together pain and regenerative medicine, cranial and biodynamic osteopathy, she shifted her medical practice in 2020 to incorporate an expanded model of healing.
Since 2020, Jess has been bridging the worlds of modern medicine, traditional osteopathy, energy medicine and biofield healing and has been offering an innovative treatment modality that she calls, Energetic Osteopathy®.
In 2022, she co-founded Centers For Energetic Healing P-LLC, where she and her team provide immersive healing programs for groups with all levels of experience, as well as continuing to offer energetic osteopathic treatments to individuals and healing sessions to groups. She works both virtually and in person and is especially passionate about teaching osteopathic doctors and healthcare providers about the integration of the human biofield into osteopathic treatment.

It is with great pride that Justin Bohall serves as the Executive Director to the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners in Medicine and Surgery, bringing over 15 years of rich experience from working within the realms of State, County, and Local Governments. Dr. Steven Boles received his D.O. degree from C.O.M.S. in 1981; interned at Phoenix General Hospital, and then received additional residency training in Internal Medicine.
He was trained in Addiction Medicine at St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center in Phoenix, AZ, from April 1999 through August 2000, by C.J. Shaw, M.D., and the nursing staff.
Dr. Boles was initially certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), in 2000, and then recertified in 2008.
He became an ASAM Fellow in April 2008, after 8 years of preparation.

Michael Bowen, M.D. is a practicing physician who is board-certified in both psychiatry and sleep medicine. He is a former active duty Navy psychiatrist who spent eight years treating Sailors and Marines in both the hospital and operational settings. His interest in sleep medicine stems from the recognition that disruption of sleep is very common and represents an important focus of psychiatric treatment. Sleep that is disrupted by psychiatric illness does not always resolve with other psychiatric symptoms, and if poor sleep is left unaddressed, it may become a risk factor for future mental health concerns.
Dr. Bowen received his undergraduate training anthropology at Harvard College and completed his medical training at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where in his final year he served as a chief resident. After four years of psychiatric practice post-residency training, he began a fellowship in sleep medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, which he completed in July 2023. He has also received the Certificate of Additional Training in Sports Psychiatry from the International Society of Sports Psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the International Society of Sports Psychiatry.

Dr. Bryman has been practicing medicine in Arizona since 1988 and is currently the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at The Norther Arizona Veterans Hospital in Prescott, AZ.
Dr. Bryman has been a volunteer physician his entire career. His volunteer activities have included helping underserved populations in Mexico, Kenya, Cambodia and here in Arizona working with the homeless.
As a pilot, Dr Bryman served as the Wing Leader for Angel flight for the state of AZ, a Homeland Security Pilot, Civil Air Patrol pilot, and flew for the Flying Samaritans to provide medical care to remote areas of Mexico. His latest adventure was working as a volunteer physician in a mobile ICU unit during the Hamas-Israeli war.

Dr. Andrew Chung is a dual-fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. He earned his osteopathic Degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic internship at the University of Arizona – Phoenix. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. This was followed by a combined neurosurgical and orthopedic spine fellowship at the University of Southern California. He then went on to pursue an advanced fellowship in outpatient and minimally invasive spine surgical techniques at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and DOCs Hospital.
Dr. Chung has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles in major spine and orthopedic journals and has written numerous book chapters on spine surgical care. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally. He additionally serves as a reviewer for several major spine journals and remains an active member of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and the North American Spine Society. Finally, he continues to serve as a lecturer at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona – Orthopedic Residency.

Paru David, M.D., joined Mayo Clinic Women's Health Internal Medicine in 1999. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and is also a fellow in the American College of Physicians.
A board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. David completed her M.D. degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently a Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Originally from Phoenix, Dr Adam Dawson is sometimes known as the "Scorpion Doctor". He completed his residency training in Kingman, AZ then stayed in Kingman transitioning into roles as core faculty and the Emergency Department Medical Director. He loves caring for patients and loves teaching. He is humbled to have been named the residency program's 2018 Student Educator of the Year and the hospital's 2020 Physician of the Year. Dr Susan Del Sordi is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology from Arizona State University and obtained her medical degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Angela DeRosa, DO, MBA, CPE, is a dynamic professional on a mission to change the face of women’s health and wellness. As a respected, internationally recognized authority on women’s hormonal health, Dr. DeRosa understands the range of health issues women face leading up to and during menopause as she herself was in full-blown menopause by the age of 35. Dr. DeRosa has more than 25 years experience in the medical field, both on the pharmaceutical side and in clinical practice. In 2009, she founded DeRosa Medical, which quickly became eponymous with bio-identical hormonal healthcare. She eventually sold her company in the fall 2017 in order to focus on new opportunities including re-opening another hormonal health practice, DRM Integrative Health.
Dr. DeRosa’s enthusiasm for educating patients on the realities of menopause and the risk factors hormonal health imbalances has never waned. An avid cat lover, in 2017, Dr. DeRosa launched Kare For Me a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to providing grants, support and funding for local, no-kill animal shelters and scholarships for students pursuing a degree in veterinarian shelter medicine.

She practices as a primary care physician and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Midwestern University.
Karen B. Everitt, JD, BSN, joined Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona (MICA) in June 2019 as vice president of risk management services. Karen has over 30 years of critical care nursing, legal, and medical professional liability insurance experience and history of successfully driving change. Her team contributes to MICA’s historically outstanding service and mission to protect and defend the practice of medicine with research-driven expertise, effective risk assessments and consultation, and pertinent liability and risk management content. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama. Gary Gailius, DO, program director of the ONMM-3 Residency, has been working with resident and medical student education at Midwestern University and Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2012. He is a graduate of MWU-AZCOM in 2009 and of the NMM/OMM Residency Program at St Barnabas Hospital in 2012. His professional experience includes designing the current residency curriculum and participating as residency faculty for over 9 years. He has also been course director for the OMS-2, OMS-3, and OMS-4 osteopathic courses throughout the last 8 years. Dr. Kemper is past President of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, serving now as the Chair of the Professional Education Committee. Dr. Frank LoVecchio currently works as the Medical Director of Clinical Research at the College of Health Solutions at ASU. He also works as the Principal Investigator for the Infectious Disease Network (IDNet) studies, a group of Emergency Departments funded through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to conduct Infectious Disease trials. These studies include MRSA, C-difficile, and cellulitis. He has served as Vice-Chair and Director of Research for the MIHS and University of Arizona Department of Emergency Medicine and has been an emergency medicine physician, medical toxicologist, and an addiction specialist for over 2 decades. He is board-certified in Addiction Medicine, Medical Toxicology, Medical Forensics and Emergency Medicine.

Lovecchio is the author of more than 200 peer review articles and has given lectures in over 20 countries.
Dr. Lovecchio has organized and participated in multiple international medical missions and has been honored locally and nationally as a Health Care Hero.
Dr. LoVecchio is also a site investigator on seven NIH grants awarded through the Emergency Medicine Network (EMNet), including grants for work on Influenza screening. Dr. LoVecchio is experienced in the conduct of research protocols in the emergency department. Currently, Dr. LoVecchio is performing research about drug development, drugs of abuse, COVID-19, infectious diseases, and environmental illness.

Karen J. Nichols, DO, MA, MACOI, CS is most recently the Dean of the Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine serving since 2002 until stepping down July 2018. She took a leave to serve as President of the American Osteopathic Association 2010-2011. Prior to serving as Dean, she was Assistant Dean, Post-Doctoral Education and Division Director (chair), Internal Medicine at the Midwestern University/Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine since 1997. She was in the private practice of internal medicine and geriatrics in Mesa, Arizona from 1985 through 2002. A graduate of the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) with a DO degree, she holds a Master’s degree in Management with a specialty in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. In 2015, she was selected for the highest honor given by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the Distinguished Service Award as well as receiving a Presidential Citation in 2018. In 2015, she received the Robert A. Kistner, DO Award and then in 2020, received the Dale Dodson, DO Award, the two highest honors bestowed by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. She has received numerous other awards.
She has served as President of the American Osteopathic Association, President of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association and President of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and was the first woman to hold all those positions. She is Past President of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago Board of Governors. Dr. Nichols is one of the two first DOs nominated by the AOA and elected to the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education board. She is the Chair of that board and serves on the Executive Committee and Policy Committee.
Dr. Nichols has served on the boards of the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Osteopathic International Alliance and the American Osteopathic Foundation. By invitation she frequently speaks nationally on leadership, end-of-life care and outreach issues for osteopathic medicine. She is also authoring a book on Leadership for Physicians.
In 2004 Dr. Nichols created the endowed Costin Institute for Osteopathic Medical Educators, sited at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, a one-year hybrid fellowship which has graduated over 300 medical educators. Dr. Nichols teaches nationally and internationally on the topics of end-of-life care, physician leadership, and women leaders in medicine.

Dr. Ryan Pinnell is a board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Pinnell earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and surgical residency at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in the Department of General Surgery. Dr Shprecher is Movement Disorders Director for Banner Research and Clinical Associate Professor for University of Arizona-Phoenix.
Dr. Shprecher completed a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Neurology residency at the University of Utah. He completed his movement disorders/experimental therapeutics fellowship and Masters in Clinical Investigation at the University of Rochester.
Inspired by personal experience as an individual with Tourette syndrome, he has dedicated his career to improving treatment options and quality of life for movement disorder patients. His collaborative research is aimed at improving early diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's and related diseases. The ultimate goal: to develop a treatment that can significantly delay, or prevent, onset of these illnesses entirely.

Dominique Roe-Sepowitz is an associate professor in the School of Social Work at Arizona State University, and she is the director of the ASU Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research. Roe-Sepowitz has her master’s degree and doctorate in social work and is a researcher, professor and a forensic social work practitioner.
Dominique teaches in the clinical track of the masters of social work program as well as provides clinical intervention groups focused on abuse and trauma in the community to women and men exiting prostitution. Dominique's research focus is on women and violence with a focus on prostitution and the therapeutic needs for exiting. Her expertise includes sex trafficker profiles, establishing a prevalence of sex buyers, and sex trafficking victim prevention and intervention design. Dominique works very closely with community groups including the Phoenix Police Department, the Phoenix Prosecutor's Office and Catholic Charities DIGNITY programs. Her research work spans the prevention, detection, identification and trauma-focused treatment of sex trafficking victims.
Recent projects include estimations of online sex buying demand, estimating the prevalence of sex trafficking victims within the juvenile delinquency and adult probation systems in Arizona, surveying Arizona’s homeless young adults about their sex trafficking experiences (Youth Experiences Survey), studying patterns within arrest cases of traffickers, exploring sex ads and demand response around the Super Bowl in 2014 and 2015, and evaluating interventions for sex trafficking victims. Community partnerships for developing new knowledge about sex trafficking include the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Phoenix Police Department, and the Tucson Police Departments. Dominique has conducted research with partners including Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children, Shared Hope International, and Demand Abolition. Community interventions that Dominique has helped to develop includes Project ROSE, the Phoenix 1st Step Drop-in Center, and Project STARFISH education. Dominique also co-created an eleven-week psychoeducation group provided at ten locations around Arizona entitled Sex Trafficking Awareness and Recovery.

Dr. Miran Song graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from Albany Medical College after which she completed her Pediatric Residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. She was chosen as a National Health Service Corps Scholar and did her service at the Kayenta Indian Health Service Clinic on the Navajo Reservation. She continued her work on the Navajo Reservation in Tuba City doing outpatient, inpatient and Level II Nursery care. Dr. Song gained a wealth of medical and culture knowledge while working on the Navajo Reservation for 16 years.
In 2015, she began working at North Country HealthCare, a Federally Qualified Health Center, where she continues to serve a diverse pediatric population of underserved children. Dr. Song has maintained a love for public health, especially for children and families in need. Dr Song specializes in Navajo/Hopi specific illnesses and complex special needs children.
Dr. Song is an elected member of the AZAAP which advocates for the health and medical rights of the children of AZ.

CAPT (ret.) Tang retired from the USPHS as of November 1, 2023 after 22 years of service in the Navajo Nation as a senior medical officer of the USPHS and the US Navy. CAPT(ret.) served more than three of those years in the US Navy as a general medical officer serving with the US Marines at Camp Pendleton, culminating in a six-month Western Pacific deployment to the Western Pacific, Middle East in deserts of Jordan, Saudi Arabia ending on September 13, 2001. After US Naval service, then LT Tang returned to the remaining 2 years of family medicine residency at Fireland Regional Medical Center before joining Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp for the past 20 years.
CAPT(ret.) Tang was an adjunct faculty at three medical schools, Dartmouth, U of A and Western University, and gave over 50 speaking engagements at regional and national conferences in the past 12 years. CAPT (ret.) Tang is continuing his mission of teaching on public health, primary care issues in retirement. Hopefully, teaching the next generation of professionals to prepare for the unexpected.

Dr. Tariot is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry with added qualifications in geriatrics. He was as a Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Intramural Research Program, then served as a faculty member at the University of Rochester Medical Center and, since 2006, he has served as Director of the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute in Phoenix. He is also a Research Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. His work has focused on care and study of people with and at risk for Alzheimer’s, with emphasis on design and implementation of clinical trials for prevention and treatment, development of biomarkers, characterization and treatment of neuropsychiatric features of dementia, and demonstration of effective dementia care. His clinical efforts have included planning, funding, and implementing several care initiatives for persons with dementia, including a Project ECHO program and “Dementia Care Partners,” a novel program in which unskilled health coaches are trained to support families dealing with dementia in Banner’s primary care clinics. He teaches undergraduates, medical students, residents, and fellows. His experience includes conceiving, funding, and implementing single center and multicenter trials, and serving as Principal Investigator on over 50 clinical trials related to Alzheimer’s and related dementias. He has published over 450 papers on these topics including those regarding studies that have led to FDA approval of new medications. He serves as co-director of the international Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative (API). This work includes the creation of pre-enrollment registries in Colombia and the US (the Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry and the related GeneMatch program); fluid and imaging biomarker studies; studies of genetic risk and protective factors; development of novel clinical outcomes for preclinical treatment research; the API Autosomal Dominant AD prevention trial of crenezumab in cognitively unimpaired people destined to develop early onset AD in Colombia, launched in 2013; the global API APOE4 homozygote prevention trial (Generation Study 1) launched in 2015 of an active immunotherapy as well as a BACE inhibitor in cognitively unimpaired people at risk for late onset AD; and the global API Generation Study 2, studying a BACE inhibitor in APOE4 carriers: the two trials were known as the API Generation Program. In partnership with Lilly, he and his colleagues help oversee the “Trailblazer 3” Alzheimer’s prevention trial. His research affiliations include the National Institute on Aging (NIA), the NIMH, and the Alzheimer’s Association and he is a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

Dr. Chad Taylor was raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate education at Minnesota State University and graduated in 2009. Subsequently, Dr. Taylor pursued his doctorate in osteopathic medicine at A.T. Still School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and graduated in 2013. Dr. Taylor’s passion was rural family medicine and hospitalist medicine. However, after completing his family medicine residency program in 2016, he was recruited by a dermatology practice, Mohave Skin and Cancer Clinic, in Kingman, AZ. He became a partner until the practice was sold in 2021. Dr. Taylor then returned to the only place that has felt like home, Flagstaff, AZ. He practices dermatology and family medicine at Apricus Medical Group’s Flagstaff Family Care, and is the Regional Director of Medical Education for A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Eren Ural, DO, C-AOBNMM, graduated from undergraduate studies at University of Michigan, received her osteopathic medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency in neuromusculoskeletal medicine in Ronceverte, West Virginia. After working for one year as an attending with the ONMM residency at Cleveland Clinic and teaching at OHUCOM, she completed a pain medicine fellowship with a strong focus on prolotherapy in Columbus, Ohio. She then returned to Cleveland Clinic as the Director of Osteopathic Education in charge of 4 osteopathically recognized residencies (Internal medicine, Anesthesiology, Orthopedic surgery, and General surgery) before her move to AZCOM. Currently, she practices mostly in the outpatient and academic settings, with major roles as core faculty with the ONMM3 residency and Program Director of the Applied Master of Osteopathic Education at AZCOM.
What fuels her in the career arena is discovering and mastering new clinical modalities and finding patterns in their most efficient application to patient care, working with students and residents on improving awareness and skills in osteopathic clinical medicine, innovating team-led high-quality research and QI projects, and optimizing the full breadth of academic medicine endeavors from high school prospective students each step of the way to and through the level of attending physicians. Outside of work, her passions include travel, meditation and mindfulness, semiprofessional doubles beach volleyball, and charcoal drawing.
Dr. Villarroel is the Chief Medical Officer for Public Health at the Arizona Department of Health Services. Dr. Villarroel has served as the medical director for the emergency response to Ebola, Zika, opioid, vaping and the COVID-19 crises. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Villarroel was the architect of the Arizona Surge Line, the Arizona Surge Staffing Initiative and Arizona’s post-acute care tracker (PACCT). She received her bachelors in biology at Princeton University, her Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University, a masters in public health, and a certificate in Media and Medicine from Harvard Medical School. Her current focus is on applying lessons learned from COVID-19, and includes leading the creation of a long-standing centralized transfer center, AZ-REACH.

Dr. Andrea Wiens is a medical examiner for Pinal County, Arizona. She is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Neuropathology, and Forensic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Wiens has extensive experience in forensic pathology and neuropathology and routinely performs postmortem examinations across the population spectrum. In her 11-year career, she has certified over 4,700 death records. Dr. Wiens is a teacher at heart and by training. She enormously enjoys learning and facilitating the learning of others.
